Answer:- Lushkoff has become a beggar by choice.He used to sing in a Russian choir before being fired for drunkenness. Lushkoff decided to become a beggar instead of looking for another hard work.

Answer:- Lushkoff says that he was fired from the Russian choir because he was an alcoholic. He lies because no one would ever help him or give him money if he told the truth.

Answer:- Olga was a friendly and caring woman. She cared deeply about people. She became aware of Lushkoff’s situation and made every effort to help him. She took care of his part since she wanted to transform him. She continued to criticise him in order to help him develop. When he realised how she felt about him, his heart began to shift. As a result, Olga was the one who brought about the positive transformation in him.
