(viii) Bright colours :– Tropical rain forests
(ix) Strong tails :– Tropical rain forests
(x) Long and large beak :– Tropical rain forests
Question:- 7. The tropical rainforest has a large population of animals. Explain why it is so.
Answer:- The tropical rainforest’s hot, humid climate and constant rainfall are ideal for many creatures’ survival; as a result, the tropical rainforest has a high animal population.
Question:- 8. Explain, with examples, why we find animals of certain kind living in particular climatic conditions.
Answer:- Animals have evolved to survive in the environments they dwell in. Evolution has given them characteristics and habits that enable them adapt to their surroundings. As a result, animals must have certain adaptive traits in order to exist in a particular sort of climate. This is why we see various species of animals living in specific environmental settings. Animals in the arctic regions, for example, have adapted to the intense cold. They have unique qualities like as white fur, a keen sense of smell, a layer of fat beneath the skin, and broad and wide paws for swimming and walking in the snow, among others.
Question:- 9. How do elephant living in the tropical rainforest adapt itself? Choose the correct option which answers the following question:
Answer:- The elephant has adapted to the rainforest’s surroundings in a variety of ways. It has a powerful sense of smell since it has a trunk that it uses as a nose. It uses its trunk to gather up food as well. Its tusks are teeth that have been modified. These may rip the bark off trees, which an elephant enjoys eating. As a result, the elephant is well-equipped to deal with the competition for food. Elephants have large ears that allow them to hear even very mild sounds. They also assist the elephant in staying cool in the rainforest’s hot humid conditions.
